Effect of Post-Weld Heat Treatment on the Mechanical Properties of Friction Stir Welds of Dissimilar Aluminum Alloys
P. Murali Krishna,Dr.N. Ramanaiah
International Journal of Engineering Science and Technology , 2011,
Abstract: This paper focuses on the effect of post weld heat treatment (PWHT) on microstructure and mechanical properties of dissimilar friction stir welding (FSW) of AA2024-T6 to AA6351-T6. FSW is getting widened to be used to join the aluminum alloys. PWHT of AA2024 and AA6351 aluminum alloys are not reported so far even though these alloys are widely used in aerospace and automobile industries. A post weld solution treatment and subsequent ageing resulted in improvement in mechanical properties (hardness and tensile strength).
Evaluation of olibanum resin as microencapsulating agent for controlled drug delivery
Chowdary KPR,Mohapatra P,Murali Krishna M
Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences , 2006,
Abstract: Olibanum resin was evaluated as microencapsulating agent and to prepare resin-coated microcapsules. Resin-coated microcapsules of nifedipine were prepared by an industrially feasible emulsification-solvent evaporation method and the microcapsules were investigated. The resin-coated microcapsules are spherical, discrete, free-flowing and multinucleate monolithic type. Microencapsulation efficiency was in the range 98-105%. Nifedipine release from the resin-coated microcapsules was slow over 24 h and depended on core: coat ratio, wall thickness and size of the microcapsules. Drug release was by non-fickian diffusion mechanism. Good linear relationships were observed between wall thickness of the microcapsules and release rate and T50 values. Resin-coated microcapsules of nifedipine exhibited good controlled release characteristics and were found suitable for once a day oral controlled release products.
Evaluation of olibanum and its resin as rate controlling matrix for controlled release of diclofenac
Chowdary KPR,Mohapatra P,Murali Krishna M
Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences , 2006,
Abstract: Olibanum and its resin and carbohydrate fractions were evaluated as rate controlling matrix materials in tablets for controlled release of diclofenac. Diclofenac matrix tablets were formulated employing olibanum and its resin and carbohydrate fractions in different concentrations and the tablets were evaluated for various tablet characters including drug release kinetics and mechanism. Olibanum and its resin component exhibited excellent retarding effect on drug release from the matrix tablets even at very low concentrations, 1 and 2% w/w in the formula. Diclofenac matrix tablets formulated employing olibanum and its resin component provided slow and controlled release of diclofenac over more than 24 h. Drug release from the matrix tablets was by Fickian diffusion and followed first order kinetics. Diclofenac release from some of the formulated tablets was comparable to that of Voveran SR tablets.
Effect of Ageing on Mechanical Properties of Dissimilar Friction Stir Welded Aluminum Alloy (AA2024 and AA6351) Joints

Journal of Applied Sciences , 2012,
Abstract: As a solid-state process, Friction Stir Welding (FSW) and Friction Welding (FW), can avoid the formation of solidification cracking and porosity associated with fusion welding processes and significantly improve the weld properties of aluminum alloys. Many studies on the mechanical properties of solid state welding joints of heat-treatable aluminum alloys have indicated that solid state welding gives rise to softening of the joints and results in the significant degradation of the mechanical properties. In order to restore the mechanical properties of the FSW joints, a post-weld ageing heat treatment to aluminum alloy joints has been preferred. In this article, an attempt has been made on post-weld solution treating and ageing (PWSTA) to friction stir welded dissimilar aluminum alloys (AA2024 and AA6351). In addition, effect of PWSTA on microstructure and mechanical properties of the welds have been studied. Optical microscopy was carried out to study the micro structural changes. Hardness and tensile strength testing were conducted to study mechanical behavior. The PWSTA applied to the joints is found to be beneficial to enhance the mechanical properties of the welded joints. As such, the mechanical properties of PWSTA welded joints shows better than the welded joints.
A Fast Heuristic Algorithm Based on Verification and Elimination Methods for Maximum Clique Problem
Murali Krishna P,Sabu . M Thampi
Computer Science , 2007,
Abstract: A clique in an undirected graph G= (V, E) is a subset V' V of vertices, each pair of which is connected by an edge in E. The clique problem is an optimization problem of finding a clique of maximum size in graph. The clique problem is NP-Complete. We have succeeded in developing a fast algorithm for maximum clique problem by employing the method of verification and elimination. For a graph of size N there are 2N sub graphs, which may be cliques and hence verifying all of them, will take a long time. Idea is to eliminate a major number of sub graphs, which cannot be cliques and verifying only the remaining sub graphs. This heuristic algorithm runs in polynomial time and executes successfully for several examples when applied to random graphs and DIMACS benchmark graphs.

Murali Krishna, Anju Mullath
Journal of Cancer Therapy (JCT) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/jct.2018.93026
Abstract: lncRNAs forms a part of the non coding part of human genome. This term denotes specific non coding RNAs with nucleotide length more than 200. They have been shown to affect various physiological and pathological processes within the human body. Of interest is their role in malignant transformation in several cancers. In this review, the role of lncRNAs in GI cancers namely pancreatic cancer, gastric cancer, hepatocellular cancer and colorectal cancer have been explained in brief. These lncRNAs have shown to be useful as a marker for detection and prognosis of various malignancies. They also have shown to have therapeutic potential. Various relevant lncRNAs in each section has also been mentioned.

K. N. S. Kasi Wiswanadham,P. Murali Krishna
Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences , 2010,
Abstract: A finite element method involving Galerkin method with quintic B-splines as basis functions has been developed to solve fifth order special case boundary value problems. The basis functions are redefined into a new set of basis functions which vanish on the boundary where the Dirichlet types of boundary conditions are prescribed. The method is tested for solving both linear and non-linear boundary value problems and is compared with the methods available in literature.

K.N.S. Kasi Viswanadham,P. Murali Krishna
Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences , 2010,
Abstract: In this paper sixth order boundary value problems is solved numerically by collocation method. The solution is approximated as a linear combination of septic B-spline functions. The septic B-splines constitute a basis for the space of septic polynomial splines. In the method, the basis functions are redefined into a new set of basis functions which in number match with the number of selected collocation points. To test the efficiency of the method, several numerical examples of sixth order linear and nonlinear boundary value problems are solved by the proposed method. Numerical results obtained by the proposed method are in good agreement with the exact solutions available in the literature.

International Journal of Industrial Engineering Computations , 2013,
Abstract: The present study focused on the Taguchi experimental design technique of Friction Stir Welds of dissimilar aluminum alloys (AA2024-T6 and AA6351-T6) for tensile properties. Effect of process parameters, rotational speed, Traverse speed and axial force, on tensile strength was evaluated. Optimized welding conditions for maximize tensile strength were estimated in order to improve the productivity, weld quality. Non-linear regression mathematical model was developed to correlate the process parameters to tensile strength. The results were verified by conducting the confirmation tests at identified optimum conditions.
